Biking and Sensing the Adventure

The most renowned places in Nicaragua where bikers can experience the satisfaction of their sense for adventure are linked to the Ometepe Island on Lake Nicaragua and to the Little Corn Island in the Caribbean Sea.

Little Corn Island is not so much related to the full experience of adventure as to a certain peculiarity it displays: although there are paved roads, cars are practically missing from the island.

In other words, Little Corn Island is a pedestrians' and bikers' paradise. Biking is possible on the paved roads or along the beach, although the beach is not very extended.

Since tourism is still in its early days on Little Corn Island, privacy is the keyword related to the place.

However, for the more adventurous travelers, the best option for biking and actually feeling the thrills of a genuine escapade on the bike, the Ometepe Island is one of the best possible choices.

Situated on Lake Nicaragua and enclosing two magnificent volcanoes, Volcan Concepcion and Volcan Maderas, the island displays a spectacular landscape, combining both mountainous panoramas (the two volcanoes) and lowland settings - the peaceful island shoreline.
