Diving | Snorkeling and Scuba Diving Nicaragua's Untouched Islands

When you are going to Nicaragua you must try scuba diving and discover the enchanted islands filled with white sand beaches, trophy fishing and phenomenal scuba diving that will leave even the most adventuresome and well-traveled divers in absolute awe.

Diving in Little Corn Island

If you ever wanted to experience scuba diving in places where the cruise ships don't set anchor upon every reef or where all the coastal shores lined up with weekend swimmers, Little Corn Island is the perfect place for you.

His is one of the biggest island in this tropical paradise and is less than twenty square kilometers in area.

The locals are descendants of British settlers and English is the main local language. This paradise is located just fifty miles of the Atlantic coast of Nicaragua; Little Corn Island is a step back to the good times of diving.

This amazing place has a rich and diverse marine life and it is literary a slice of heaven for any sport diver. In the waters of this island you will find sea turtles and dolphins, hammerheads and grouper.

Eels lie in wait amongst the coral and sea sponges and the numerous caves that can be found here are teaming with over a 1,000 species of underwater life.

You should also know that the island's sole scuba shop is also Nicaragua's most developed and professional operation: Dive Little Corn is the first thing you'll see as you get off the panga.

Also, keep in mind that these services include daily morning and afternoon dives for novice through advanced divers, night dives by appointment, hourly and all-day snorkel trips, PADI certification courses, and kayak rentals.

Most dives around the island are shallow, but there are a few deeper dives that are more than 100 feet. Little Corn's reef system is unique not only for its healthy abundance of wildlife, but also for its coral formations.

On the other hand, if you prefer other water activities, you may also try kayaking and canoeing. You will find yourself in a late afternoon gliding on still waters, with your kayak leaving a trail of ripples in its wake. There is no doubt about it; Lake Nicaragua is the paradise for the kayaking lovers.
