If you’re looking for evening entertainment while you are visiting Nicaragua, then you will most likely want to be in one of the bigger cities of this country. Otherwise, the probability of enjoying a feeling of an all-pervading nightlife is smaller; unless you find yourself in Nicaragua during the peak of some of the annual festivals, when nightlife is exploited at its best, possibilities of such entertainment or evening socializing places are to be found in cities like Managua, Granada or Rivas.

In Managua, nightlife is equivalent to enjoying evening theatrical performances and afterwards going to a fine restaurant where a really good meal makes a marvelous end for a day. One of the places where such performances can be appreciated is the Fine Arts Palace, which is in fact Nicaragua’s most important theater, situated very near to the center of the capital. La Loma, a hill very close to the city’s outskirts, also hosts a theater facing front the magnificent panorama of a volcanic lagoon.

Additionally, if you want to enjoy live music in a typical Nicaraguan restaurant, situated on Managua’s main avenue, Avenida Bolivar, you may want to give a rewarding try to the Casa de Los Mejia Godoy, famous Nicaraguan musicians. For a special, romantic evening while still in Managua, you can have a nice dinner at Intermezzo del Bosque, a refined restaurant situated very near downtown, yet intimately enclosed by a forest.

Listening to live performances while having dinner and watching the panorama of the city from the outside terrace of the restaurant are two activities certain to complete your day in the most pleasant way.

In Granada, La Calzada Avenue (Calle La Calzada) and La Libertad Avenue (Calle La Libertad) are probably the best places where you can enjoy evening entertainment to its best in Nicaragua. The former avenue borders Lake Nicaragua and here nightlife is particularly intense. One of the best places to have fun in the evening is Café DecArte, on La Calzada, where not only can one taste all sorts of food from local, to Asian and European, but one can also listen to all sorts of music in the middle of exhibitions of local art, ranging from paintings to ceramics and even furniture.

On the same avenue, Pizzeria Don Luca is the most reliable place where you can have a taste of real Italian Pizza; the building is constructed in the same colonial style characteristic to the rest of the city and from the outside terrace you can be the spectator of the avenue’s vibrant life. Another preferred night spot in Granada is Café Nuit, situated on Calle La Libertad, a place where you can serve a meal only in the evening while listening to live music. There is even a dance floor here, which turns the place into one of the youth’s favorite nighttime getaways. Moreover, the bar also has a karaoke, which means even more fun at night.
