Nicaraguan Rivers and Lakes
The Rio Coco
Río Coco, formerly known as the Rio Segovia, is a river in southern
Honduras and northern Nicaragua. To the Miskito Indians that live
along the river it is known as the Wanki or Wanks River.
The river originates near San Marcos de Colon in Honduras, and flows
750 kilometers, the middle and lower reaches forming the
Honduras-Nicaragua border and flows into the Caribbean Sea
